Top 3 Currently Airing Shows

For me, going into the autumn is all about the TV shows coming back, and getting to snuggle up in the evenings with a blanket and a hot drink or a hearty dinner.

Here are the shows I’m watching at the moment:

Strictly Come Dancing

The glitz, the glamour, all the great dancing, the build-up for Christmas. Strictly has all thoughts things for me, and I love watching the chemistry between the dancers and the celebrities and seeing how much they improve over the weeks.
This is on the BBC on a Saturday Night

The Leftovers

This show is such a mystery! It’s really exciting and confusing, but really good! It’s just started the second season, and you’ll definitely need to catch up with the first season if you haven’t watched it, but I highly recommend it if you like sci-fi and mystery and drama.
This is on Sky on Monday evenings

Star Wars Rebels

I am so flipping excited for the new Star Wars film to come out, I pre-booked tickets as soon as they were available and I’m going to a midnight showing with some friends. This is another animated show that revolves around unsurprisingly the rebels! It’s set before the start of the original trilogy, but revolves around some pretty cool characters!
This is on Disney XD on Saturday mornings

This isn’t everything I’m watching at the moment, but these are my recommendations with a little variation of the type of show so you can find something you like. I’d love to see your recommendations.

Primark Work Wear Shop

Primark's Autumn Winter Collection is always amazing, but this year I really think they've got some amazing stuff! There are lots of lovely autumnal sweaters, brilliant coats and some amazing scarfs.

I've invested in one of each of these pieces to make add some things to my work wear wardrobe. It's really important for me to look professional as I'm going for lots of interviews and meeting with new potential employers.

This a great smart grey coat that I think looks far more expensive than the £25 I paid! It's a nice soft felt style material with popper fastenings. It's also got nice deep pockets.

The scarf is so so soft! It's a boucle style knit with a fringy end, and a marbled grey colour. It was just £7 and it's lovely and cosy!

My final purchase, and the one I was a little less sure of, was this green bat-wing sweater (complete with dog fur). Now I wasn't sure about this purely because I couldn't tell if the style would suit me. However I have barely taken it off since first trying it on! It's really cosy and the perfect thickness for this weird autumnal weather we have at the moment.

Why Everyone is Obsessed with Scandi Style (and how you can recreate it)

Scandi style is the minimalist style that you see all over the internet with white walls and floors, and wooden furniture, and has a pared-back style and is very minimalist, something that definitely suits the blogger aesthetic. Here’s why I think people love it, and how you can replicate some of the key traits in your own home.

Natural and Cosy

Beautiful Danish Home

Wooden furniture and woollen blankets make up a lot of the décor of Scandinavian homes. Traditional craftsmanship connects their stark and potentially clinical home to the natural world and prevents that from happening. You can bring this into your own home with wooden stools or benches in your bedroom or dining room. For your bedroom you can create a similar feel with wool blankets, linen bedding and sheepskin (real or faux) rugs and this creates a signature Scandi look.

Light and Bright

Christmas Touches in a Finnish Home

There’s lots of high windows in many Nordic inspired homes, and lots of them don’t have any curtains over the windows. Whilst having no curtains is pretty weird in the UK, by hanging the curtain rail high and wide, you can emulate the same kind of atmosphere.
It’s also important to have lots of lights, something I try to bring into my own room. With different levels of lighting it is possible to have bright lighting to games night and working, and then dim light for cosy evenings and movies.

Minimalist but Colourful

Quirky Dutch Home with fab colours

Nordic homes seem to have perfected the balance between minimalist and personal with décor items that are meaningful and specific combined with functional items. Small personal touches make a room, more than lots of large statement pieces. If you just use small heirlooms and pieces that you really love, you home will be more meaningful rather than following all home décor trends.

Scandinavian style is really quite easy to replicate in your own home, so long as you plan out your rooms with this style in mind. All images from My Scandinavian Home, a gorgeous site with daily Nordic inspiration that you can check out and use to inspire you further.
